Penpol Pumpkins
Teacher Jacob Woolcock and his students take you to Massachusetts. The small junior school in Cornwall were representing GB in an international robotics event. This is their story of a life changing trip and the impact that supporting local groups can have on young people across the community. HYPATP at its best.
As a teacher it’s not every day you get a message inviting ten of your students to Massachusetts to represent Great Britain at an international robotics event. But with the Penpol Pumpkins that’s exactly what happened – and we only had four weeks to raise the £25,000 needed to make their dream a reality.
I was the lead teacher behind this extraordinary adventure and, along with help from the local community including their local Rotarians, managed to not only take the children to America but also come back with a trophy!
